Protecting Health Care and Lowering Costs Act of 2026

This bill would undo the changes to Medicaid that were made by a law commonly known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The changes it would reverse include rules that require certain Medicaid recipients to do community service, work, or other activities to keep their coverage, limits on which residents can receive federally funded Medicaid and CHIP services based on their citizenship or immigration status starting in 2027, and restrictions on certain taxes that health care providers pay related to Medicaid.
