American Enrichment Deployment Act

This bill would let companies start building uranium enrichment facilities before getting a full license from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), which is not allowed under current law. Instead, these facilities would follow the same rules as other types of nuclear fuel processing facilities, which still need NRC licensing to handle nuclear materials. The NRC would have 180 days after the bill becomes law to create or update its rules to put these changes into effect.
