Major Richard Star Act

This bill would let veterans who have a disability related to combat receive both their military retirement pay and their disability payments at the same time, without having one reduced because of the other. Right now, veterans who get both types of pay have their retirement pay reduced. The bill would also cover veterans with combat-related disabilities who served fewer than 20 years.
