Indian Health Service Emergency Claims Parity Act

This bill gives people who receive emergency medical care from a provider outside the Indian Health Service (IHS) more time to notify the program that helps pay for that care. Right now, patients or their providers must notify the Purchased/Referred Care (PRC) program within 72 hours of receiving emergency treatment, but this bill extends that deadline to 15 days. Elderly and disabled individuals are not affected by this change because they already have a longer 30-day window to provide notification.
