Safe Routes Act of 2025

This bill would let logging trucks carry heavier loads on interstate highways, which they are currently not allowed to do because of federal weight limits. To qualify, the trucks must be carrying raw or unfinished forest products like logs, wood chips, or pulpwood, and they can only travel up to 150 miles on the interstate to reach a storage or processing facility. The trucks would also need to follow their state's weight and size rules for logging vehicles.
