College Employment Accountability Act

This bill says that colleges and universities could lose their federal funding and be cut off from federal student aid programs if they hire workers who are not legally allowed to work in the United States. It also requires colleges that take part in federal student aid programs to use the E-Verify system, which is a tool that lets employers check whether someone is eligible to work in the country. The Department of Homeland Security would be required to check every six months to make sure colleges are using E-Verify, and if a college is found to be hiring unauthorized workers or not using the system, Homeland Security must notify the Department of Education within 10 days.
