ABC Act

This bill requires federal agencies that run Medicare, Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Social Security to look at their paperwork and processes and find ways to make them easier for family caregivers. For example, the agencies should try to reduce situations where caregivers have to submit the same information to multiple programs. The agencies must get feedback from caregivers and local organizations, make improvements, and report back to Congress. The bill also requires the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to send a letter encouraging states to do a similar review of their own Medicaid and CHIP programs.
