TAKE IT DOWN Act

This law makes it illegal to post intimate or sexual images or videos of someone online without their permission, including fake images created by computers. It applies to both adults and minors, and people who break this law can face prison time, fines, and be required to pay restitution to victims. The law also requires social media platforms and similar websites where users post content to set up a way for victims to report these images and have them taken down within 48 hours. Additionally, even threatening to post such images of someone is a crime under this law.
