LAST ACRE Act of 2025

This bill would have the Department of Agriculture give out grants and loans to help bring internet and wireless service to active farmland and ranchland that currently lacks fast enough internet. The money could be used to connect things like tractors, irrigation systems, and drones, or to build wireless towers and other infrastructure on agricultural land. Internet providers who want funding would apply by submitting a bid, and then other nearby providers would get a chance to submit competing bids. The bill also requires USDA to ask farmers in certain surveys about how they use internet service on their farms, and it ends two existing USDA programs that currently support broadband projects.
