Dismantling Ideological Policies for Semiconductors and Science Act

This bill removes requirements related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) from federal science programs that were originally created by the CHIPS and Science Act. It gets rid of things like the Chief Diversity Officer position at the National Science Foundation, outreach programs to historically Black colleges and minority-serving institutions, and grant programs aimed at increasing participation of women and underrepresented minorities in science and math fields. The bill also stops federal agencies from requiring organizations that apply for government funding to have certain policies, such as those related to workforce diversity, childcare, environmental protections, or consulting with labor organizations, unless a federal law specifically requires it.
