Poarch Band of Creek Indians Parity Act

This bill makes sure that a law called the Indian Reorganization Act applies to the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. A 2009 Supreme Court case ruled that the government could not take land into trust for certain tribes if they were not under federal oversight when the law was originally passed in 1934. This bill says that the Poarch Band of Creek Indians should be considered as having been under federal jurisdiction in 1934, and it confirms that previous government decisions to hold land in trust for the tribe are valid.
