ORPHAN Cures Act

This bill changes the rules for a Medicare program that negotiates lower prices for certain prescription drugs. Currently, drugs that treat only one rare disease are already left out of the negotiation program, but this bill would also leave out drugs that treat more than one rare disease. Additionally, when figuring out how long a drug has been on the market to decide if it qualifies for price negotiation, any time the drug was classified as a rare disease drug would not count toward that total.
