SNAP Administrator Retention Act of 2025

This bill would have the federal government cover 100% of the costs of paying workers who run the SNAP food assistance program at the state level, instead of the current arrangement where the federal government only covers about half. It also requires that state workers who manage SNAP be paid at least as much as federal employees doing similar work, with pay updated each year to keep up with federal pay rates. The extra federal money must be used to add new full-time positions beyond what states had in 2024 and cannot be used to replace money that states were already spending on their own.
