MAIN Event Ticketing Act

This bill makes it illegal to use automated software, like bots, to buy event tickets online in ways that break a ticket seller's purchasing rules or get around their security systems. It also requires online ticket sellers to put reasonable protections in place to keep their websites secure and to report any known cases of these rule-breaking activities to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Law enforcement agencies at all levels are expected to work with the FTC to share information about cyberattacks on ticket-selling websites, and the FTC can take legal action and impose fines on anyone who violates the law. The FTC must also report to Congress on how it is enforcing these rules.
