Resident Physician Shortage Reduction Act of 2025

This bill would add more training spots for new doctors at hospitals that receive Medicare funding, especially hospitals in rural areas and places that don't have enough health care workers. It would create 2,000 extra training positions each year from 2027 through 2033, with each hospital allowed to get up to 75 additional spots in total. The bill also requires a government agency to study and report on ways to make the health care workforce more diverse, including better representation from rural, low-income, and minority communities.
