MAPWaters Act of 2025

This bill requires the Forest Service and the Department of the Interior to work together to collect and share information about where the public can access federal waterways for activities like recreation and fishing. They must create shared standards for this data and, within five years, put it all online in a digital format, including details about waterway restrictions, access points, navigation information, and fishing rules. The agencies must update waterway and access information at least twice a year, while fishing restriction data must be updated right away as changes happen. The bill also requires the agencies to set up a way for the public to ask questions or leave comments about the information provided.
