Retirement Freedom Act

This bill would let people choose to stop receiving Medicare hospital coverage without having to give up their Social Security benefits. Currently, opting out of Medicare hospital services also means opting out of Social Security. Under this bill, people who opt out would not have to pay back any Medicare hospital benefits they already received, and they could choose to sign back up for Medicare hospital coverage at any time without facing a penalty.
