Tropical Plant Health Initiative Act

This bill creates a new program within the Department of Agriculture focused on protecting tropical plants like coffee, bananas, mangos, cacao, macadamia trees, and vanilla from pests and harmful weeds. It allows the government to give out grants for research on how to fight these pests, set up pest management programs, and study the health and biology of these tropical plants. The bill also extends funding through 2030 for other competitive research and outreach activities run by the Department of Agriculture.
