Right to Override Act

This bill says that when hospitals, health plans, or other health care employers use artificial intelligence systems to help make medical decisions, they must let their doctors, nurses, and other health care workers use their own judgment to override what the AI recommends. Employers would have to create policies allowing these overrides, provide training on the AI systems, and set up a committee to advise on how the systems are used. The bill also makes it illegal for employers to punish, fire, or discriminate against health care workers who choose to override an AI system's recommendation. The Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Labor would be responsible for enforcing these rules, and workers or states could take legal action if the rules are violated.
