Fire Ready Nation Act of 2025

This bill gives official legal backing to wildfire response services already provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and creates new programs to improve wildfire forecasting and readiness. It directs NOAA to set up a fire weather services program, develop online tools for sharing fire weather information, create a testing center for new technology like drones, and review data gaps each year after fire season. The bill also creates a team of weather experts within the National Weather Service to provide on-the-ground support before, during, and after major weather events, and it removes certain limits on extra pay for federal wildland firefighters and related emergency workers. Additionally, it requires the Government Accountability Office to review and report on how well the fire weather program is being carried out.
