Prison Staff Safety Enhancement Act

This bill requires the Department of Justice and the Bureau of Prisons to take steps to protect prison staff from sexual harassment and sexual assault by incarcerated individuals. It directs the Department of Justice to create national standards aimed at preventing, reducing, and punishing such behavior against correctional officers and other prison employees. The bill also requires the Bureau of Prisons to fully carry out the recommendations from an Inspector General report that looked at how the agency handles sexual harassment and assault committed by inmates against staff.
