CLEAR LABELS Act

This bill would require that drugs and their active ingredients sold in the United States include labels showing the names and locations of the companies that made them. This information would need to appear on the product label or be available electronically, covering who made the ingredients, who made the final drug product, and who packed or distributed it. The FDA would decide whether breaking these rules counts as mislabeling and could issue fines, but it would have to consider whether the company was warned and given a chance to fix the problem first. These rules would not go into effect until five years after the bill becomes law.
