Increasing Access to Lung Cancer Screening Act

This bill would require Medicaid, Medicare, and private health insurance to cover yearly lung cancer screenings without needing prior approval for people whose doctors recommend them based on certain health guidelines. It would also expand Medicaid coverage for help quitting tobacco, vapes, and e-cigarettes — including counseling and medication — to all people, not just pregnant women. The bill also directs the Department of Health and Human Services to spread the word about the importance of lung cancer screenings and requires a government report on who is being diagnosed with lung cancer and how the government can do a better job with screenings.
