Foster Youth Housing Opportunity Act

This bill lets states use money from a federal program that helps current and former foster care youth transition to adulthood to also pay for housing support services. Specifically, it allows those funds to cover services like financial counseling for people up to age 26 who were in foster care and are trying to get or keep housing through a federal housing assistance program. The bill also requires the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Housing and Urban Development to work together on guidance for better coordinating housing support, and to publish a report on how well former foster youth are accessing stable housing and how often they experience homelessness.
