Medicaid RAC Improvement Act of 2026

This bill makes changes to a program that uses contractors to find incorrect Medicaid payments, such as when providers are paid too much or too little. It says that after December 31, 2028, states can no longer get permission to skip having this program, and it expands the contractors' work to include reviewing payments made to certain managed care health plans. The bill also requires yearly reports on how well these contractors are doing at finding and collecting overpayments, and it directs the government to study ways to get more states to participate in the program.
