MOMMIES Act

This bill makes changes to Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to address health care for mothers. It extends health coverage for women after pregnancy from 60 days to one year and adds dental care to that coverage. The bill also creates a program where states can get grants to set up "maternity care homes" that provide services to pregnant women on Medicaid or CHIP. Finally, it requires a government report looking at gaps in health coverage for pregnant and new mothers and how video and phone-based doctor visits are being used to help them get care.
