Zuni Indian Tribe Water Rights Settlement Act of 2025

This bill settles water rights claims in New Mexico belonging to the pueblo of Zuni by approving a water rights agreement between the Zuni, New Mexico, and others over the Zuni River Stream System. It creates a trust fund to pay for carrying out the settlement and spells out what water rights the pueblo has. The bill also sets aside certain federal land in New Mexico to protect the Zuni Salt Lake, its water supply, and cultural resources in the area, and it stops mineral development on that land. The Bureau of Land Management would manage the protected land, and the Department of the Interior would take land around the Zuni Salt Lake into trust for the benefit of the Zuni.
