Emergency Conservation Program Improvement Act of 2025

This law changes two government programs that help farmers and forest landowners recover after natural disasters. It lets them get larger advance payments before they start repair work — for example, farmers can now get up to 75% of replacement costs upfront, instead of just 25% for fencing repairs as the old rules allowed. Forest landowners can also now get advance payments, which they couldn't before. The law gives people more time to use the money — 180 days instead of 60 — and expands who qualifies by covering damage from wildfires that weren't started by natural causes but spread naturally, as well as wildfires started by the federal government.
