Tribal Trust Land Homeownership Act of 2025

This law creates rules to speed up how the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) handles paperwork for mortgages and other land-related documents on tribal trust land. It sets specific deadlines for the BIA to review and approve or deny these documents, and requires the BIA to notify lenders and explain any delays. The law also gives federal agencies and Indian tribes the ability to view land records in a BIA computer system and requires a report on making mortgage paperwork digital to make the process faster. Finally, it creates a new position called a Realty Ombudsman within the BIA to help with real estate issues.
