Romance Scam Prevention Act

This bill would require dating apps and websites to warn their users if they received messages from someone whose account was later banned for suspicious activity. The warning must include details like the banned user's profile name, a note that the person may have been using a fake identity or trying to scam people, and advice not to send money or personal financial information to other users. The warning must also include information about how to avoid online fraud and how to contact the dating service's customer service team. The Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general would be responsible for making sure dating services follow these rules.
