Wintergreen Emergency Egress Act

This bill requires the Department of the Interior to allow a new emergency exit road from the community of Wintergreen in Nelson County, Virginia, that would pass through the Blue Ridge Parkway. Before granting this access, the department must first complete several steps, including looking into whether there are other exit options that don't cross federal land, studying how a fire might behave in the area near the proposed route, and finishing any required environmental and historic preservation reviews. The results of these steps must be reported to certain committees in Congress before the exit can be approved.
