FAFSA Verification Efficiency Act

This bill requires the Department of Education to check the Social Security number and citizenship status of everyone who has to provide information on the FAFSA form, which is used to apply for federal student aid. Right now, the government only checks the Social Security number of the student applying for aid. Under this bill, the check would also cover other people who must give information on the form, such as the student's spouse, parents, or a parent's spouse.
