Summer Meals REACH Act of 2026

This bill changes a government program run by the Department of Agriculture that provides free meals to kids, mainly during the summer when school is out. Currently, the program focuses on children in low-income areas, but this bill would make all children eligible to participate and would require that camps be reimbursed for meals served to any child. It also lets all meal sites offer grab-and-go meals instead of requiring kids to eat together in a group setting, which right now is only allowed in rural areas that don't have a group meal site nearby. The bill also allows the organizations running the program to be monitored either in person or remotely.
