Protecting Americans’ Health Care Act of 2026

This bill would undo changes to Medicaid that were made by a law commonly known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The changes it would reverse include requirements that some Medicaid recipients participate in work or community service to keep their coverage, rules that generally limit federal Medicaid and CHIP payments to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and certain other specific groups of residents, and limits on certain taxes that help fund Medicaid. In short, the bill would cancel these Medicaid-related rules and restore the way things worked before that earlier law was passed.
