Finding ORE Act

This bill lets the U.S. Geological Survey team up with other countries to help map out their supplies of critical minerals and rare earth elements, which are materials important to U.S. economic and national security and used in making many products. Under these partnerships, the U.S. would help the other country find and map its mineral reserves, while making sure that American companies or companies from allied countries get the first chance to develop those minerals. The bill also requires that the mapping information be kept safe from countries that are not U.S. allies, and the Department of State must agree on which countries to partner with and how the agreements are handled.
