ASSIST Act

This bill aims to support mental health and drug or alcohol-related services in schools. It would have the federal government cover 90% of the cost under Medicaid for mental health and substance use services provided at schools by counselors, social workers, and psychologists. The bill also creates a grant program to help schools, colleges, and other educational institutions hire more mental health and substance use disorder providers.
